May 22

Some great strawberries I bought today at Shaws.
Buy 1 free 1! And it's only like $3.99.

Hugeee and sweet!

I made some food today. Sudden craving for colourful veges.

My study table with the oversized portion of food. Oh dearie. Mashed potatoes were so filling.

And the apartment view from my window.
Today's weather is rather chilly. I zone out pretty quickly these days. Not sure why. Even on orientation week! Ah wells, I'm gonna sleep soon. Everyday is a new day.

One day at a time with the Lord.

:)

I just...

You know my needs and You know my cries.
You know what's going on because You have eyes.

I just... want to see myself getting out of it soon.

Chilling on one evening

Not having my iPhone yet drives me up the wall sometimes hahaha. Like when I really wanna take a good picture, or whatsapp my sister, mom and dad, I first have to turn on my laptop and FB and inbox them. Gaah! I will get my phone soon, once my Prepaid credit has timed out.

You know what? It was raining, and now the air here is so so cooling :))

Outside my window, there's this lady singing with her guitar, I think she's my neighbour hahaha. When I was dusting the carpet just now, I saw a door open, like freely. People here are not as paranoid as Malaysians because the crime rate here is pretty steady. Minus the bombing part. Okay, maybe this is not so a good way to measure crime rate or whatever not okay ahh! Anyway, anyway!! So, she's sitting by the apartment doorstep where people walk, and there she is, singing so freely. America, free country hah. And her friends would passed her by and they would greet and chat with one another.

Both my windows are open. Love the air. It's funny there isn't any mosquitoes around. Teehee.

Tomorrow's orientation! I'm so nervous giler.

Now that my room is pretty clean, and after putting up cards and boxes that made it looked a little like home, I should probably go now. I hope the plumber is done with his thing.

Tomorrow's the big start of my academy. Like the overview of what to expect. A sneak preview of what's going to take place as a Berklee student. God be my strength. I'm here to learn.

More than being independent

Nowadays, whenever a doubt or confusion come across me, I get answers quite fast to clear them off of me. Maybe back home I read the Bible but I did not chew the word properly and just swallow them down. But now when I came here, I have to carefully read them and really really meditate and attached those words to my heart, like super glue them onto myself. So that wherever I go, I can tell them to people and friends. Knowing them by HEART can be very useful to help others, also myself, when I share to them.

I was fruits-and-vegetables deprived since Tuesday. Mom always cook vegetables and provide fruits like bananas, apples, oranges, watermelons whatever not at home. Today, I told myself I have to start knowing where to get all these healthy food! I know there are some places that I could get, I just need to ask where are those places. Since I was pretty desperate for one healthy breakfast, I marched down to Whole Foods Market, some organic shop and bought myself Grapes and Mixed Berries. Boi am I so glad to have them for breakfast! And peach yougurt. And the milk tastes funny to my tongue. But the blueberry muffins were... alright.

As I chew those berries- the strawberries are awesome!- I chewed on the word of God too. Today's Daily Bread talks about Romans10:8-15 and it was important. I had a conversation with a friend and this just confirmed about what I believe and it is true. Everybody has opinions. But the Bible will always be the truth. Always check with the Bible.

So now that I'm alone and my sister is not here to tell me her thoughts and views about the God's kingdom, that I agree with her all the time, of how we are supposed to operate and function as God's children, I have to have my own thoughts and view about things now. And always check with the Bible.

Amazing. It's like God is watching over me and He is taking good care of me. He is doing such a great job. This is not just only about learning how to be independent, it's more to that, I just can tell. Looking forward to what He has in store for me.

Love! :))

Tis' the season to be jolly

A lot of things God told me before. And now that I'm seeing those things coming to past. His words will come to past. It's just so so amazing. I'm like literally filled with so much joy, gladness and gratitude now for what is happening.

Initially it was hard. But God will work things out for me. I'm just so looking forward to it. I came here because of Him. To do what He told me to do from the very beginning. And that I know His hand is with me in this.

Time for new things. I'm getting all set! So many things I felt like I will have to deal with them, and I know after this season, I'm going to be a whole lot stronger in person, character and in spirit.

So encouraged today by this new group of friends I met in church. We are all students, who wants to do the right thing for God, who knows that this is a calling, and who wants to shine the light for Jesus. But we're all not perfect, we face with challenges in our lives that try so hard to block us from moving forward but by God's power and strength we can overcome them. We have the power and authority from God because we are His children and His inheritance. And that HS will always help us when we ask. HS is so so important I can't help it but to stress on this like so many times. It's true. And I really respect these people as friends.

I feel like writing down more stuffs here but it's just better if I do it in my journal. All in all, today was just a wonderful day. A kick start to something. This is a season for God to groom me into somebody. Ahhh, it's going to be a process! But it's not by my might or what I can do, it's God's.

:)

I ate an apple today. Never felt healthier before since I arrived hahaha.

Sunday yay!

I picked up my friend's guitar, just to play Alabaster Jar. And then the guitar strings were so out of tune hahaha. I tried tuning it and then, yikes forget it. I'll sing solo. And then I realized what Youtubes are for hahaha!

God might just face palm me just now.

But yeah, it's a Sunday! I've always loved Sunday. So looking forward for church.

God knows

You know the first week of something new, I'm swimming and swimming, sometimes it feels like I'm drowning, but I know it in my heart that God is kind and He will show me His kindness.

Time to grow up, girl.

Looking out at my window, enjoying the evening breeze, just made me lift up my hands and praise my Jesus. For all that He did for me and my family, back at home, how He cared so much for us from our health to well-being, and how He helped us in difficult times. From there, we were strengthen and delivered from our old and enter in to the new. And how He has brought me out of KL to here! Now that's a testimony.

Coming over to Boston is just right for me. I felt that I really needed to be away from familiarity. I had to grow up. Simple as that. Not only learning how to settle bank accounts and get my directions right on the streets, I also had to learn about dealing with people, finding the right friends, get my own things done independently and so on. Do you know, hearing from people who have gone away from their home saying that God is still the same and He is with them, no matter where they are, I find it really awesome and now that I am actually experiencing it just makes it so personal to me. God is still the same loving God I knew when I was in Malaysia. He still guides and speaks the very same way how He used to do that at home. Yes, I'm very dependent on my home church and family. That's because I grew up in that loving environment. But now that I'm away from them, I had to see and feel the real world out there. That is where maturity and growing take place. That is also where I can seek wisdom from God and sharpen my discernment in hearing Him. HS is so important. He has been such a helpful friend.

I do made mistakes when I got here. I get annoyed at myself for it too. My sister is the one who gives wise advice and (still) helps me to bring my feet up again. It's time for me to have my own stand. I may get carried away, but all these I have to learn to stand on my ground. What I know I should do, I should do it and not letting others decide on what I should do.

Nothing is going to be easy but I really thank God that He's with me. I can always ask Him to give me wisdom when I speak to a friend, to the banker, to the waiter, to the school counselor, to the lecturers to anybody. It's a new season, a new chapter in my book where God is the author of it. So far, I'm liking this city.

I know I am going to be strong in the Spirit. I had to come here to learn how to deal with my weaknesses. It's not easy, really. Talk to someone myself, to speak up, to learn up my directions, to make a decision and whatever not. God will help to see it to completion until the end of this season. He is faithful and He will never fail us. He will not put me to shame. He is good and He will see me through it.

Did I mention, the hamburgers here are awesome?!! So is the weather. They change like crazy. Summer can be cold. Winter can be hot. Hahaha, PMS.

Girlies, Missies, Youths, Music, Fun, Learning, longest blog title ever.

Yesterday was my last goodbye with HIS church.
I received some more gifts and the photos are up in Instagram.
I will miss them all.
Here are some photos.
There will be more coming up, a little bit here and there.

<3 td="">

We were at Israel Houghton's concert this year in April.

And I will miss the Sundays

It's been a wonderful time with this team for a year and a half.

I wish that there's more time to know them a little but more. But yeah! We will still keep in touch :D

The Intruder

You know, I really want to rant it out but not in public like FB.

I know who my close friends are. I don't like it when you pretend to be my close friend and announce it in public. I don't usually say no when friends come and visit me. But if you are going to act as if you are my somebody or like as if I know you for so long like we are buddies, and now that I really need my own space at home before I leave all my loved ones and my best friend(s) (they know who they are), but you came barging into my place and sat down there like a boss. And to top that up, you even disturb my other close friends by contacting them when my friends are all busy with college and work.

Have you not have any courtesy and sensitivity in you at all?

We were never close friends. I don't think we will ever.

I shall not continue to write down the rest of the details, of how you have upset me.

The last few days

The last few days in Malaysia has been an emotional one.
From the 13th General Elections (GE13) to the friends sincerely meeting up with me, who came all the way to my place to spend time with me, those who contacted me to meet me up, and the friends who prayed for me in Cell Group, at Youth, during worship team meeting and debriefing time and practically every time I meet these guys they would pray for me. So encouraged.

:')

And my bruther and sister have been so good to me, not just because that I'm leaving or what, they have been always good to me hahaha. Well, I will miss them, especially Derrick's joke which cracks me up, and his perfect measurement in making tea for me. That 12-year-old really is an adorable fella in this family. Esther also gave me some heads up about living in the overseas. From safety to friends to growing spiritually and all. It's good to have her around. Now that she won't be with me in the States, I have to be... (here comes the word)... independent !

So here is the big family ! And yeah, some came later and the group became bigger. But it's alright, even if their faces are not in this bigg photo... You guys are, in another photo then hahaha! You guys are still in my heart :))

They threw me a surprise farewell party on one Saturday! The video caught me live and I barely could find a place to hide myself. It's on FB. Thanks for coming and all the effort made. :)

A dear friend of mine who bought this for me!

The very loving family I have

The cook (specializes in Asian Fusion) , the smarty pants (like seriously smart! Applying for Harvard now), the nutritionist, the very dedicated teacher who gave up all the hard years of studying actuarial science for her passion- teaching, she can sing really well too! The IT man and of course the lawyer whom I admire most- my sister.

The fashion designer whom has 3 other siblings that doesn't look like each other hahaha! Awesome foursome Ngion siblings.

Yes, this is the wonderful friend who bought the Oreo Cheesecake :D

And the babes over here whom went through the ups and downs of secondary school life with me. I love them. Two weren't here. They are now in Canada. JPA Scholars man :)

The talented MD from the Philippines, the Maths teacher who is so good in Maths (hahaha!), I mean numbers and figures, the inspiring writer and his brother, the mind-reader? Haha.  They are the Ngion Brothers. Awesome peeps. And the whacky guys with so much of talents in them waiting to be unleashed.

She's like a little sister to me- Shereen. I have her names all over my SkyBurger game in iPhone. Hahah.

After this, my camera got spammed by these bunch of jokers :D

The drummer and keyboardist. Who stays so far in Klang, yet dedicated serving in the worship team.

And here comes the other gang. It's a campur group of friends.  Prayer warriors, fantastic musicians and of many more.

Then comes my cousin who made me wear this... thing hahaha! She wanted to snap with a "Princess" lolol.

The finale but not yet the finale : Sam from the Philippines and Nick from PJ, whom I always enjoy playing with these gifted musicians on Sundays. And Thursday practices too. Whee!

So, I guess there will be more photos coming in soon. I hope I have time to upload them here. Oh yes, and the gifts!

Ehehe. I took it from my Instagram :P Mini size.
Thanks for the beautiful card made with love from the creative sister Hazel Joy :D And the drawings, perfume, heart-shaped wallet, jacket and bracelet from Canada.

Oh ohh, wait one more. :PP

The babes who came and visited me at home. 7 years of friendship and still going on. Love these girlies.
Okay.
The End.
For now.

Lincoln Brewster- So Good

You're the hope in my heart
You're the light in the dark
And You hold me in Your hands
O Most High O Most High
You're the strength when I'm weak
You're the grace that I need
And Your mercy saved my soul
O Most High O Most High

I will sing of Your love in the morning
And Your faithfulness at night

You are good so good
All the time All my life
You are good so good
Your love remains You never change
You are good so good
And I'm still singing because
You are so good

In the flood and the flame
You are making a way
And You'll never let me go
O Most High O Most High
Every word You have said
You will never forget
All Your promises will stand
O Most High O Most High

I'm holding on to Your promises
I'm holding on to Your faithfulness

You are good so good
All the time all my life
You are good so good
Your love remains You never change
You are good so good
And I'm still singing because I know

My music director asked us to listen to Lincoln Brewster's 'This is the Day' and so I check this guy out on youtube his other songs. Superb guitarist! Found So Good and I love the lyrics, it's for my season now.

We're singing one of his songs this Sunday! :D

To be a blessing

Every time I thought to myself why am I here again?
Why did I choose to embark on the music career journey.

I remember the vow I made, my SPM results, the bell I held in my hand, the promise God said that I believe will never return to me void, instead providing me a hope and a future, and all the miraculous financial encounters. I only need You- God.

When I was 17, I never thought about money issues. I happily chose music and every now and then, I sometimes worry about how music can help to earn a decent living. Soon on or later, I can't be asking mom and dad for money. There are new responsibilities next time like paying the bills, house, cars, petrol bla bla omgosh that is adulthood! And then music for LIFE? Can barely earn properly- that's the Asian mindset. I could have followed my emotions and be something else that could earn a stable income eery month like my parents and sister. So every time when this worry comes, I have to remind myself I only need God. He is a good God and He is my provider. It is clear to me why I am to become a musician, and not something else. I know this when I see God helping me in a lot of things, and the peace and assurance I have from Him.

And when we serve Him, we will have a more definite focus as time passes. What we are doing, and why and the hows. The hows, are the most mysterious part for me. That one need a lot of trust ahaha. As we walk in the calling we're called to, our steps will become firm, by God's grace and power. We will know what we want, and be sure of it, what our dreams are and if we hold on to them and believe what God can do, our dreams will become a reality.

Hope in God!

Wherever we are, we are to bring blessings to people. In all we do, our actions, our words, our job, our ministry, our lifestyle, hobbies and interests. We use our gifts to bless people, and we are responsible for the gifts we have. We are to sharpen those gifts and consistently use them. Otherwise, it might be taken away from us if we are not of good steward. It will be even better if we use those talents for the Kingdom of God!

I'm not a public performer. I'm very shy and I don't know why. Playing in church on stage is not so much of a performance. It is a way for me to express love, gratitude and some much to Jesus. I feel free to dance in the music. It is also a privilege to actually know how to play the keyboards and enjoy it and share that moment with other talented musicians on stage in church on Sundays. And lead worship everyone come to the throne for one thing- to worship God and be close to Him.

I have dreams that one day I would like to see them come to pass. I have to remain faithful in God, and not to chicken out when giants appear.

Life is interestingly challenging.

:)

Because of love

You know, before I sleep tonight, I would like to thank someone whom has kept His promise to me. People can lie. But this someone is different. This someone has helped me in all the processes of getting my i-20, my air ticket, financially (this part is the bomb man!) and recently, my visa.

I really thought that I couldn't make it to Berklee because of the expensive fees and cost of living over there. But it was my desire. I really wanted it. I had to go through so many storms from requesting my i-20 all the way up to my visa. My family, especially dad, had to face with such challenge, in such short amount of time to provide. We pressed on. We moved on. It was as if, whatever I was doing, obstacles were there to try to stop and discourage me. But, the peace of God was with us. We knew what to do. What we can look at the circumstances, really was like a dead end. That was the time faith is put to test. That was the time where hope is in God and only Him.

Through all these hard times, I finally have this as my testimony to tell. One of the biggest lifetime testimonies I ever had so far, apart from that time God saved me from choking on a solid rectangular chocolate that I almost died (so. not. cool.) . My faith has improved. I learnt so much about God and how to trust Him. Like, really, really, trust Him because there's no one else that could help me.

God cares. So much. God loves me. So so much.

Believe, and you will enter the promised land. God is faithful. He is not a liar. What He said He will bring it to past. God can. Nothing is too impossible for God to move. Sarah, at the age of 100, almost creaking, conceived Isaac. Is there anything too hard for the Lord? (Ps Raymond's sermon)

I really thought that I'm not going anymore. This means so much to me. I will make the two years in Boston the best out of it.

Monday, April 15, 2013

Almost there!

Counting the weeks I have before leaving this country, to a far far away place to study.
It's less than a month now!
Anxious, nervous, excited, butterfly stomach whatever those weird feelings are.
I really don't know what to expect! :D

All I want is to really make the most out of those 2-3 years in Berklee.

The visa application, jabs requirement, packing, confirmation, financial documents, air ticketing etc. so so much to prepare! But every step is another closer step for me to get there. Just got to hang on and see it to completion.

I will really miss mom, daddy, my brother and my sister, and HIS Church (Church- I mean the people and things we do). So thank God for genius people who invented Skype hahaha. And yeah, I will miss Malaysian food !! Nom nom nom nom...

So looking forward to Boston! I'm growing up. I'm "becoming independent but fully dependent on God"- Dad's prayer.

Mom is sleeping on the couch, Derrick is doing his homework quietly while mix.fm is on on the tv- afternoon songs to laze in the hall. And here I am, blogging. I'll miss this too! Omgaaah, feeling so emotional now hahaha.

:) :D

Terrific brother and sister

20 years of my life, never have I actually thought that Esther is my best best best 'bestest' friend ever.

A best friend that feeds me since birth:

A best friend that carries me even when I'm too heavy for her:

A best friend that tells me to leave my worries behind, in this case THE PACIFIER!
Just... to snap a picture and make memories:

A best friend who shares her toys with me:

A best friend who hangs out and plays with me:

A best friend who loves me even when I look terrible:

A best friend who holds my hand and walks with me:

A best friend who wears the same t-shirt with me:

A best friend who poses like a boss:

And then 12 years ago, another came in to join the best friend club. Derrick!

My brother, eventhough he's the youngest, but he is a genius. His advices are sometimes so practical and cun! He also prays like a warrior. I'm so glad that I'm his sister. Esther is always Esther. I can't beat her in any of our arguments. Her brains are full of facts. That confirms her profession. But her facts are the ones that actually make most sense to help me see a different view.

I love them to bits. I really do.

I will always look up to my sister:

She was also the first person who taught me how to "roll" chords on piano:

Hard work and hard to do work

The difference between hard work and hard to do work.
A friend from college posted an article he found in a blog. It's about a research done to compare how elite players and average players carry out their daily lives- that includes practice time! For full reading, click here.
So I pluck out a section of it which is really interesting.

... that there’s a difference between hard work and hard to do work:
  • Hard work is deliberate practice. It’s not fun while you’re doing it, but you don’t have to do too much of it in any one day (the elite players spent, on average, 3.5 hours per day engaged in deliberate practice, broken into two sessions). It also provides you measurable progress in a skill, which generates a strong sense of contentment and motivation. Therefore, although hard work is hard, it’s not draining and it can fit nicely into a relaxed and enjoyable day.
  • Hard to do work, by contrast, is draining. It has you running around all day in a state of false busyness that leaves you, like the average players from the Berlin study, feeling tired and stressed. It also, as we just learned, has very little to do with real accomplishment.
This analysis leads to an important conclusion. Whether you’re a student or well along in your career, if your goal is to build a remarkable life, then busyness and exhaustion should be your enemy. If you’re chronically stressed and up late working, you’re doing something wrong. You’re the average players from the Universität der Künste — not the elite. You’ve built a life around hard to do work, not hard work.
The solution suggested by this research, as well as my own, is as simple as it is startling: Do less. But do what you do with complete and hard focus. Then when you’re done be done, and go enjoy the rest of the day.

So, always remain calm and don't get ourselves busy unnecessarily, doing unnecessary work and stressed out at the end of the day (worse, it's not even the end of the day yet and we're already sweating heavily). Have enough sleep and... practice!! Like consistently, even if we don't see the results yet. When practicing, practice well, even though it's a (boring) technical exercise, well at least try to make it fun (that's what I always tell myself hahah). I like the conclusion : "Do less. But do what you do with complete and hard focus. Then when you're done be done, and go enjoy the rest of the day. "
And yes, after practice, it will generate a strong sense of contentment and motivation.

The Cockroach Theory

At a restaurant, a cockroach suddenly flew from somewhere and sat on
a lady. She started screaming out of fear. With a panic stricken
face and trembling voice, she started jumping, with both her hands
desperately trying to get rid of the cockroach.

Her reaction was contagious, as everyone in her group also got
panicky.

The lady finally managed to push the cockroach away but ...it landed
on another lady in the group.

Now, it was the turn of the other lady in the group to continue the
drama.

The waiter rushed forward to their rescue.
In the relay of throwing, the cockroach next fell upon the waiter.

The waiter stood firm, composed himself and observed the behavior of
the cockroach on his shirt.
When he was confident enough, he grabbed it with his fingers and
threw it out of the restaurant.

Sipping my coffee and watching the amusement, the antenna of my mind
picked up a few thoughts and started wondering, was the cockroach
responsible for their histrionic behavior?
If so, then why was the waiter not disturbed?
He handled it near to perfection, without any chaos.

It is not the cockroach, but the inability of the ladies to handle
the disturbance caused by the cockroach that disturbed the ladies.

I realized that, it is not the shouting of my father or my boss or
my wife that disturbs me, but it's my inability to handle the
disturbances caused by their shouting that disturbs me.

It's not the traffic jams on the road that disturbs me, but my
inability to handle the disturbance caused by the traffic jam that
disturbs me.

More than the problem, it's my reaction to the problem that creates
chaos in my life.

Lessons learnt from the story:
I understood, I should not react in life.
I should always respond.
The women reacted, whereas the waiter responded.

Reactions are always instinctive whereas responses are always well
thought of, just and right to save a situation from going out of
hands, to avoid cracks in relationship, to avoid taking decisions in
anger, anxiety, stress or hurry.

Have a nice day.

I found this on FB and now my writing font is of that from FB hahah! :D

Transition

"If we desire different results, we need to do things differently," -Aunty Jo's email.

We face with changes, like it or not, we have to. Changes and transitions are meant for us to mature and go on onto higher ground.

Season = a time period, one place to the next.

Transitions between seasons is a difficult time. We may get lost. To know our purpose is very important. The new is greater than the old, no matter how great the old is.

So what do we do when we're going through with the transitions? Or at least, we're aware of that it is a transition.

Rise from our sleep and make a decision. When convictions come, we must make a decision. Open up our hearts for the spirit of God and agree with the word of God. Then, fruitfulness will yield. Make that decision so that changes for the new season can come.

Keep our lights on- live life of holiness. Those lights in our lives will cause contradiction and conflict with the world. But don't compromise and feel bad when rejections happen. When serving, serve God not by works, but by His grace.

Stand firm on the ground, even when the wind is blowing our feet off. Don't turn back, don't give up. Put our hope in God. Change is hard, but it is for the better.

Be bold and courageous. Pray as often because praying is fellowshipping with God. In prayers, God will talk to you and reveal you things. Pray continuously, it's an on going conversation on all occasion. So that our minds are focused on Him.

Just combining a few of the Sunday messages and summarizing them (not the full version of course). I'm afraid that I'll lose the notes. Most importantly when I'm in Boston I can refer it right here.

PS: Message by pastors, given from God and HS as they spend time asking what to speak to the church. It's not my own word I do not take credits for this. I'm really blessed with the Sunday messages.

Know it in your heart, and you'll see

Every life is challenging. To live is already a challenge.

It is the tough moments that actually cause us to be dependent on God. It is those overwhelming times that actually level-up our faith.

Receive those challenges and 'bombs' in life like a warrior. The Word there says that we are victorious because of Jesus. He overcame death when no one else could.

I feel like giving up when the mountains are becoming more and more 'steep' to climb. So hard! Settle for second best! After all, it's still one of the best. No! I don't want regrets in the later years. No. I want to make sure God's promise fulfilled in me. He said that His words won't go out and come back empty to me, and He'll bring it to past. He said that He will finish what He has started in me. He also said that He will deliver me, and let me see miracles too, and that He is who He is. He said that He'll never leave me half way. He will help the helpless to fight.

Many times I took what He said in into my mind, but have not 'downloaded' and 'installed' those into my heart. The heart is where determination, devotion, dedication, discipline, perseverance and endurance flow out. The heart is the one that decides a person's character and relationship with God. So read, read and read His words in the Bible again and again, make sure I understand them whole heartedly. Hold on to the Word. Think about them all the time. Occupy my mind with the words for they contain inspiration, power and peace to help in daily challenges and making decisions.

Don't give up! Just keep going. When the wind is about to blow off our feet from the ground, when the rain is getting more and more heavy, pushing us behind and stopping us from going ahead, keep pushing forward, keep going. God is the anchor.

Sighs, easy to say. Now lets make it real. And... Action!

Steamboat Rain Away!

Here's a quick short testimony :

My family went and have dinner at Puchong's Coco Steamboat. Half way eating, we felt rain droplets tapping on our skins. Customers began to panic. I was a little too. And my sister told God to stop the rain because we just started our steamboat galloreee! In other words, she prayed. out. loud. lah. haha. while busy using the chopsticks for food. Dad too, he kept praying. And so we decided to stay put and not "evacuate" ourselves to a "safer" corner. We ate like we were under normal clear night sky and simply enjoyed our dinner. We know God can stop the rain. If He has parted the red sea, what is rain man?

Believe. And it will happen.

God held the rain throughout our dinner.

Simple action like that can bring blessings to everyone. Be a blessing!

He is who He is

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

Even a friend from Korea sent me the same verse that God has been placing in my heart for this whole week. Was thrilled when I received his email and know that God is keeping His promise.

Our God is Greater

Great things are happening, so much that I learn to hope and hope and believe and pray and increase my faith. Things that I learnt from last week really woke me up from my character blur-ness and spiritual sleepiness. I'm 20 and I'm growing up. Thank God for His grace, mercy, faithfulness and big love for me even when I didn't do a good job.

God works all things together for our good and His glory. Amen to that.

Why are the Israelites so confident in everything they do? Like they know that they will prosper in their work, business, health and family? And people said they seem so stuck-up. But, really, they are not. That's because they know who their God is and who they are, their identity, their inheritance, as co-heirs with Christ (This truth is all in that Book). And they take charge of what's here on earth, their rights here as members from the kingdom of God.

It's so interesting when we know that we can't do things that are impossible for us, God can help and move things until they are possible. Provided if it's His will lah ;) Even if we think we've got it handled well, well God can help us do better!

Why, you little...

Dang man. That awful feeling when you see your friend posting up something on fb or twitter and you go like : I shouldn't have known that piece of information and now I feel bad.

It's funny how your day was going so well and niceee... until that piece of information turn the rainbow up side down.

Social networks, I get annoyed with you sometimes.

Many times I felt like deleting them. But I have to stay connected for other purpose. And these things just pop out like popcorns and caused me to READ and it triggers my sensory systems, worse, the emotional side of me.

Okay, so what's the best remedy?

I don't knowwwwwww! Just suck it up, perhaps?

Food, Family and Love

I can always feel the love from my parents when they cook for the three of us, and the whole family. Be it waffles for breakfast, congee for lunch or simple 3-4 Chinese dinner dishes, or mom's curry puffs and cupcakes for tea. My family loves food. Food brings the family together. Food brings people together.

Bible study with the HS

Jesus Raises Lazarus From Death
38 Again feeling very upset, Jesus came to the tomb. It was a cave with a large stone covering the entrance.39 He said, “Move the stone away.”
Martha said, “But, Lord, it has been four days since Lazarus died. There will be a bad smell.” Martha was the sister of the dead man.
40 Then Jesus said to her, “Remember what I told you? I said that if you believed, you would see God’s divine greatness.”
41 So they moved the stone away from the entrance. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you heard me. 42 I know that you always hear me. But I said these things because of the people here around me. I want them to believe that you sent me.” 43 After Jesus said this he called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 The dead man came out. His hands and feet were wrapped with pieces of cloth. He had a handkerchief covering his face.
Jesus said to the people, “Take off the cloth and let him go.”

East-to-Read-Version
- John 11 : 38-44

Lazarus coming back to life is a miracle. Before the miracle happened, Jesus gave thanks to the Father. After giving thanks, then the miracle happened.

Give thanks in all situation, whatever the situation is.Thank Him with our hearts. Miracles will happen. If you believe, you would see God's divine greatness (v40).

When there's doubt, declare and proclaim God's goodness in our lives, in our situation. Faith as tiny mini mustard seed can. move. MOUNTAINS!!

Bible study with the HS this afternoon.

PS: Some miracles happened instantly, some according to God's timing.
Different people, different encounters.
As for this, it's for me and those who can relate this with me.

Israel Houghton and his heart

Everyone has their own life testimonies. This man, has inspired me. Just read his life story here http://www.cbn.com/cbnmusic/interviews/700club_IsraelHoughton_041205.aspx

His songs are a legacy. We sing his songs almost on every Sunday morning service. So I decided to google him up and watch some of his worship sessions on youtube. His song arrangements are superb, but his heart and love for people and God are more than anything else.

And my friend encouraged me with one of his songs, that God provides and it is abundantly, more than enough. (My ears are so tune in to the pianist :) )
